Founded in 1900, the Camden Polo Club stands as one of South Carolina's most storied sporting institutions. For over a century, the thundering hooves and skilled mallets of polo players have graced our historic Kirkwood Polo Field—the second oldest polo grounds in the United States.

After a period of dormancy, 2025 marks our triumphant return as we've recharterd the club with strong support from polo professionals based in nearby Aiken. This revival isn't merely about restoring a sporting tradition; it's about rekindling a vital piece of Camden's cultural heritage while creating new opportunities for both seasoned players and curious newcomers alike.

The Camden Polo Club is dedicated to preserving and promoting the sport of polo in the South Carolina Midlands through three core principles:

Accessibility: Unlike traditional polo clubs that require significant investment in horses and equipment, we operate on a shared pony rental model that makes this historic sport accessible to local amateurs, especially those without horses of their own.

Community: We foster a welcoming environment for players of all skill levels—from complete beginners to experienced competitors. Our regular Sunday matches and "Discovery Days" create space for learning, connection, and southern hospitality.
